MHI employees cycle 1000 miles in Green Capital commuting success!

As part of MHI and sister company Bascom BMS’ cycle to work scheme and in line with Bristol Green Capital 2015, staff have been donning their Lycra and taking to two wheels (or two feet!) to cycle and walk to work. We have been mapping progress through smart phone app Map My Ride aiming to reach a collective 1000 monthly miles through company group BuMs and have this month smashed the target with a ground breaking 1080 miles! This is fantastic for co2 emissions in Bristol, eliminating over 1000 miles worth of fuel from the city’s air!

MHI are committed to keeping Bristol’s air clean; recently trialling an electric bike along with MD Paul Brown’s own green transportation. Paul can often be seen driving his Tesla electric vehicle to meetings, all chargeable from our solar panels installed last year! The EV charge point acts as a hub for the community, helping encourage more drivers to take on EVs.

Paul Brown commented: “Always looking for ways in which we can cut down on emissions, I am hugely proud of everyone who works at MHI and has been contributing towards us not only meeting, but surpassing our 1000 miles target! We are committed to our green agenda, truly helping keep Bristol green. We aim to keep beating those targets and increase those miles!”

Director Alex Lawson is passionate about bikes and has been known to cycle out of town to meet colleagues on their trip to work!
