MHI trial electric bike as exciting part of Bristol green initiative

We are excited to announce that as part of the Cycle to Work scheme we have been given the opportunity to trial an electric bike for our staff’s daily commute, an exciting advancement for our 2015 green initiative! MHI staff have been leaving the cars at home since our flagship Two Wheel Tuesday event in February, and cycling or walking to work tracking mileage on smart phone app, Map My Ride. The electric bike promises to be a fun way of adding mileage to our Map My Ride monthly total. This month we racked up an astounding nearly 1,000 miles collectively cycling and walking to and from work, this impressive figure is only set to increase with the addition of the electric bike.

We are working with local Solar PV Company Sunlight Future to ensure the trial with the bike is 100% environmentally friendly. The bike is rechargeable using energy from our Solar panels installed in 2014 to celebrate the launch of Bristol Green Capital. The MHI team are thoroughly enjoying using the electric bike, not just for commuting, but also for getting to client meetings in and around Bristol.

Joanne Woodcraft, Business Development at MHI said: “I am always thrilled by the exciting opportunities offered to me working at MHI and sister companies Bascom BMS and Hecom. I rode the bike to meet with some clients in Bristol and it flew! I was there just as quick as if I’d driven, as I was able to avoid the traffic whilst also doing my bit for the environment. A win / win situation. I am proud to be a part of MHI, helping do our bit for Bristol Green Capital 2015.”

Alex Lawson, Director said: “We are ecstatic to have been selected for the fantastic opportunity to trial an electric bike at MHI HQ, further helping to make a good impact on the Bristol environment, something which we are already passionate about. We are always keen to try out news way of saving energy and I’m confident the bike will be happily adopted into MHI culture.”

MHI’s CEO Paul Brown is very excited to be a part of the Go Green Bristol initiative and doing our bit Bristol Green Capital 2015 charging Electric Bikes next to MHI’s Tesla Electric Car. We are keen to continue pushing our involvement to make Bristol a great city to live and work in.
